We have positions for research assistants (for those with a BS or MS degree and interested in doing research while providing technical services to the group), postdocs and research scientists (typically beyond postdoc level, similar to non-tenure track professors in the US). We are also looking for candidates in scientific writing, editing and visual communications.
Our group conducts fundamental and applied research in materials chemistry and materials science, with strong connections to real-world applications in energy, public health, and personal care materials.
Postdoctoral Positions
We are looking for postdoctoral candidates with strong research backgrounds and interests in the areas listed below. At the same time, outstanding candidates with ambitious and original research ideas in the broader fields of materials chemistry and materials science are also encouraged to apply.
Research Areas:
Area 1:
Polymer materials, including functional polymers, hydrogels, medical polymers, and polymer adhesives.
Area 2:
Inorganic and nanomaterials, including carbon-based materials, metal nanomaterials, structural materials, surface and interface engineering, and high-pressure materials.
Area 3:
Energy and electrochemical materials, such as lithium/sodium/zinc-ion batteries, lithium–sulfur batteries, and quasi-solid or solid-state electrolytes.
Qualification for candidates:

A Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines

A strong research background with the ability to conduct independent research

Publications demonstrating research quality and scientific rigor (journal impact factor is not used as a primary evaluation criterion)

Good command of spoken and written English

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment

Co-supervise undergraduate and graduate students
